Attend a Budget Hearing
Legislators are holding in-district listening sessions to get constituent feedback. Take a look at the list of dates to see if your state representative or senator has scheduled a listening session and try to attend. If you don’t know who represents you, check out our interactive map to find your legislators.
These listening sessions tend to be small and are a quick and easy way to share your message directly with your elected leaders. Here are some suggestions for what you can say in two minutes:
- Speak from the heart (i.e., school choice is a lifeline, a ray of hope, a pathway to success).
- Talk about funding challenges (i.e., competitive labor market, innovative programing).
- Focus on how additional funding would mean more seats for choice students.

Contact Elected Officials
If you can’t make it to a listening session, take a moment to send your representative and senator a quick email to introduce yourself and your school. Let them know school choice is important to you and the students and families you serve. Ask them to fully fund choice and charter school students.
Share Your Story
As part of our legislative strategy, we want to showcase positive stories from school leaders, teachers, parents and students. Stories that help inform decision makers and the public about the benefits of the school choice program and why it is important for ALL students and families to have access to a wide range of quality educational opportunities in Wisconsin.
If you are interested in sharing your story in a video, written testimonial, or in person at a budget or legislative hearing we want to hear from you!
